UVA basketball home game with Pitt sold out

uva-basketball newThe UVA men’s basketball game against Pitt on Monday, Feb. 16 at 7 p.m. at John Paul Jones Arena is sold out. UVA has now sold out tickets for its six remaining home games and the sellout marks Virginia’s eighth of the season, its most since selling out eight games in 2007-08. The Cavaliers sold out nine games in 2006-07, the inaugural season at JPJ.

UVA has sold out home contests against Harvard, Davidson, Duke (Jan. 31), Louisville (Feb. 7), Wake Forest (Feb. 14), Pitt (Feb. 16), Florida State (Feb. 22) and Virginia Tech (Feb. 28) this season.

Virginia will host ESPN’s College GameDay Covered by State Farm at John Paul Jones Arena for the first time on Saturday, Jan. 31, prior to the Saturday Primetime presented by DIRECTV telecast featuring No. 2 Virginia’s game with No. 5 Duke. Tipoff at JPJ is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Admission and parking will be free for all fans attending ESPN College GameDay on Saturday morning. Gates will open at 9 a.m. GameDay’s first hour begins at 10 a.m. on ESPNU, continuing at 11 a.m. on ESPN. An evening edition will lead into tip-off of Virginia’s ACC showdown with Duke. All seating for the national pregame show at JPJ is general admission.

ESPN’s College GameDay Covered by State Farm features analysts Jay Bilas, Seth Greenberg and Jay Williams, and host Rece Davis on the eight-week Saturday morning and evening program that originates from the site of ESPN’s Saturday Primetime Presented by DIRECTV telecast. Bilas will also serve as analyst for the Virginia-Duke game, alongside Dan Shulman and reporter Shannon Spake.
