Lane closures will occur on Route 285 (Tinkling Spring Road) in Augusta County at the I-64 Exit 91 bridge widening project due to paving work. These closures will be on Monday, December 15 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
The paving work will be in the vicinity of the I-64 eastbound off ramp at Route 285. Traffic on both sides of the Route 285 bridge will be affected. Single-lane traffic will be maintained on Route 285 with intersection traffic controlled by police officers. Flagger traffic control will be used throughout the work zone.
Drivers should expect occasional stops in both directions lasting up to five to ten minutes per occurrence. These stops will be to place paving and milling equipment.
Motorists should expect significant delays in this area during this work. All work is weather permitting.
The Commonwealth Transportation Board awarded Shirley Contracting a $21 million design-build contract in September 2012. The company is performing the work in three phases, starting with construction of the new bridge over I-64 and widening the roadway to the west side of Route 285. Final completion of the project is scheduled for August 2015.
