Charlottesville Area Transit: West Main Street closure, Free Trolley and Route 7 to detour

Contributors

Due to the Midtown Festival in Charlottesville on Sunday, September 21, the Free Trolley and Route 7 will detour around portions of West Main Street. The detour will start at noon and continue until both routes go out of service.

The following bus stops will not be serviced during the detour: 11058 (W Main St @ 4th St), 11091 (W Main St @ 8th St), 11186 (W Main St opposite 9th St), 11117 (W Main St @ 9th St), 11101 (W Main St @ Amtrak), and 11062 (W Main St @ 4th St).

When heading away from the downtown area, both routes will turn left off of Water St onto Ridge Rd, right onto Cherry Ave, right on Roosevelt Brown Blvd, and left onto W Main St.

The reverse pattern will occur upon their return.

Bus stops along Ridge Rd, Cherry Ave, & Roosevelt Brown Blvd will be honored during the detour.
