Charlottesville Sheriff’s Office offering one day basic self-defense training

newspaperThe Charlottesville City Sheriff’s Office will offer a one day basic self-defense training on Saturday, Aug. 9, from 9 a.m. to  4 p.m.

The training will take place at Carver Recreation Center at the Jefferson School City Center and is open to all adults in the community. A $10 donation is requested which can be given upon arrival for training, however participants should pre-register by Friday, August 1, 2014 to ensure there are enough materials for everyone. Space is limited.

Participants should wear clothing that is comfortable for basic movement or light exercise.
