Alan Jackson, Kellie Pickler, Old Crow Medicine Show to perform at 2013 Rockingham County Fair

Calendar 2013The Rockingham County Fair announce its lineup of entertainment for 2013. The Fair will be Aug. 12-17 at the Fairgrounds on South Valley Pike, Harrisonburg.

 

2013 Pepsi Grandstand Events

Saturday, August 10: 4:00PM; Motocross Racing – Watch thrilling races with competitors of all ages in this special pre-Fair event. Motorcycles, ATV/Quads, etc. Motocross racing has been moved to Saturday prior to opening day of the Fair and we expect the number of competitors to increase significantly. Fair gate admission is free on Saturday. Grandstand tickets – Adults $10.00 each; Kids 6 and under $2.00 each. All tickets for this event are General Admission. Advance tickets available soon.

Monday, August 12: 8:00 PM; Professional Bull Riding; All tickets for this event are General Admission. Grandstand tickets – Adults $10.00 each; Kids 6 and under $2.00 each. Advance tickets available soon.

Tuesday, August 14: Special guest to be announced

Wednesday, August 15: 7:30 PM; In concert – Legendary Country Music Artist Alan Jackson with special guest Kellie Pickler. Jackson has sold nearly 60 million albums worldwide, topped the country singles charts 35 times, and scored more than 50 Top-10 hits. Jackson is an 18-time ACM Award winner, a 16-time CMA Award recipient, and a two-time Grammy-winning artist recently inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame. Country Music recording artist Kellie Pickler appeared on season 5 of American Idol and is currently pleasing audiences with her stellar performances on Dancing with the Stars. Her chart hits include “Red High Heels” and “Best Days of Your Life.” Ticket prices are $45, $55, $65, and $85. Advance tickets available May 31.

Thursday, August 16: 7:30 PM; In concert – Old Crow Medicine Show. With roots in Harrisonburg, this popular Americana string band appeals to music lovers of all ages. Described by Rolling Stone magazine as “marrying old-time string music and punk swagger,” OCMS has a loyal fan base with more than 350,000 Friends on Facebook. Their appearances include the Grand Ole Opry, Prairie Home Companion, and All Things Considered. Their song “Wagon Wheel”, co-authored with Bob Dylan, was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America in 2011 and has been covered by a number of acts, including Darius Rucker. Ticket prices are $20, $25, $30, and $40. Advance tickets available May 1.

Friday, August 17: 8 PM; Nationwide Demolition Derby – Fans come out in droves to see their favorite mechanic, neighbor, relative, or friend behind the wheel of those crazy cars in the ever-popular wreck’em rodeo. All tickets for this event are General Admission. Grandstand tickets – Adults $10.00 each; Kids 6 and under $2.00 each. Advance tickets available soon

Saturday, August 18: 6 PM; Dragon Motor Sports Truck and Tractor Pull – Pro Stock, Super Pro Farm, National FWD, Hot Farm, Light Pro Stock, Mega Monster Trucks and more! All tickets for this event are General Admission. Grandstand tickets – Adults $10.00 each; Kids 6 and under $2.00 each. Advance tickets available soon
