Dixie Gas & Oil approves grant for Sears Hill Bridge project

MINOLTA DIGITAL CAMERADixie Gas & Oil Corporation is proud to support the Community Foundation of the Central Blue Ridge for the restoration of Sears Hill Bridge through BP’s Fueling Communities Program with a grant donation of $2,000.

The grant will help with the restoration of the historic Sears Hill Bridge that was declared unsafe in January 2010.  The bridge links the Sears Hill neighborhood with downtown Staunton over the CSX railroad line.  It was renovated to preserve the look and feel of the original bridge from back in 1906 while also incorporating sustainable materials.

“The Community Foundation is very grateful for the support from Dixie Gas & Oil and BP Fueling Community Program for this project to re-connect our City,” says Becky Kohler, president and CEO.
