The Beth Macy congressional campaign announced on Wednesday that it has added town halls in Clifton Forge and Daleville to its upcoming schedule of events.

The Clifton Forge town hall, scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 14, was originally supposed to be a community conversation-style event with Macy and the Republican incumbent in the Sixth District, Ben Cline, but Cline never responded to the invite for the dual-candidate event.

“Have you seen Ben ‘in the wild?’ He stays in his ‘safe’ zone because he knows his constituents are fed up with him being a Trump lap dog,” Macy said in a statement from her campaign. “They are outraged by politicians who duck their obligation to meet with the people who pay their salary — taxpayers!

“I will meet with anyone and not play favorites. Red, blue, who cares? As your representative, I will sit down and hear you out, always.”
