Charlottesville: Kadencia Orchestra to headline 14th annual Cville Sabroso

Chris Graham

cville sabroso festival Kadencia Orchestra, which has performed at the now-shuttered Kennedy Center, will headline the 14th annual Cville Sabroso, which is being presented on Saturday from 2-9 p.m. at Ting Pavilion in the Downtown Mall.

Kadencia, which launched in 2018, is certified by the Institute of Puerto Rican Culture as an authentic performer of Puerto Rican folk music.

The band, a resident artist at the Perkinson Center for the Arts and Education in Chesterfield, is built around its lead singer, Maurice Sanabria, and his son, Tito Sanabria, who live in the Richmond area.

“We look forward to Sabroso every year as our opportunity to share our culture with the broader community during Hispanic Heritage Month,” said Javier Raudales, the executive director of Sin Barreras, the nonprofit that hosts the festival. “Attending Sabroso with us is a great and enjoyable way to support local Latino immigrants and the Sin Barreras programs and services that they depend on.”

Sin Barreras will update information on the show on its Cville Sabroso Facebook page.
