Sixth District Congressman Ben Cline insulted many constituents with his Labor Day speech in Buena Vista.
He gestured toward his right, and addressed members of the audience as “you people,” implying that many came from outside the Sixth District. He suggested falsely that the Labor Day gathering was only for voters from Buena Vista, when in fact it has statewide significance.
Baloney, Ben. Nobody would come far to hear your nonsense. Like it or not, you’re supposed to represent all of us. It’s too bad you fail to hold town halls where you can hear from everyone.
Ben claimed Democratic Party policies had failed Buena Vista.
I guess he didn’t notice the two-mile long levee that protects the city from floods, thanks to Democratic Congressman Jim Olin.
Perhaps Ben forgot that 22 percent of Buena Vista’s residents have incomes below the poverty level. Their Medicaid and SNAP come from Democratic Party initiatives. Yet Ben voted for the budget bill that closed Buena Vista’s primary care clinic and reduced SNAP benefits.
Ben voted against ending the war with Iran. Ben gave us $4 gasoline and $6 diesel fuel, raising everyone’s expenses.
Helping working families? I don’t think so.
Trump has instructed his followers to “pretend I’m on the ballot.”
We don’t have to pretend.
A vote for Ben Cline equals a vote for Trump. Staying home is a vote for Trump, our most corrupt president.
Everyone must turn out to vote for Beth Macy, and make government work for all of us.
