A Charlotte man died from injuries in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 81 in Rockbridge County on Saturday.
James Earl Phillips, 42, of Charlotte, died at the scene of the accident, at the 189 mile marker on I-81, reported at 12:24 a.m.
Per a Virginia State Police report, Phillips was traveling north on I-81 in a 2016 Ford Explorer when his vehicle struck a northbound 2015 Freightliner tractor trailer in the rear.
