The Trump administration is painting Renee Nicole Good – mother of three, widow, ODU alum, poet, among many other things – as also being a “domestic terrorist.”
Because of course that’s what they’d do.
Only by demonizing somebody can you then say that somebody deserves to die.
As if anybody deserves to die.

As coincidence would have it, Good, 37, who was shot and killed in Minneapolis on Wednesday, met her fate five years and a day from the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection.
Turns out, she would have had it easier being a J6er than being a mother of three, a widow, an ODU alum, a poet.
The J6ers who tried to overturn an election are in line to get millions for having to endure the indignity of investigations, trials, and in some cases, hard time, for their innocent sightseeing tour of the U.S. Capitol.
Renee Nicole Good, whose crime against humanity was getting turned around in the middle of the street in between SUVs full of ICE agents, got a spray of bullets into her face after dropping off her 6-year-old son at school.
You know, what they call, at the Department of Homeland Security, another day at the office.

And in the spirit of the current moment, MAGA is now trash-talking her in death – Donald Trump has called her a “professional agitator”; JD Vance said she was a “deranged leftist” who was a member of “a broader left-wing network to attack and to doxx and to assault and to make it impossible for our ICE officers to do their jobs.”

“Renee was one of the kindest people I’ve ever known. She was extremely compassionate. She’s taken care of people all her life. She was loving, forgiving and affectionate. She was an amazing human being,” her mother, Donna Ganger, told the Minnesota Star Tribune.
But moms, of course, are biased.
Ex-husbands, not always, but Good’s ex-husband, who spoke to the Associated Press on the condition of anonymity – he doesn’t want MAGA to “doxx and attack and to assault” him – spoke glowingly of her, describing her as a devoted Christian who took part in youth mission trips to Northern Ireland when she was younger.
I thought MAGA claimed to like Christians.
Oh, well – guess they only like the right kind; and she wasn’t the right kind.
While there, Good, who earned a degree in English, won an undergraduate prize from the Academy of American Poets for her piece entitled “On Learning to Dissect Fetal Pigs.”
“Following Renee’s tragic killing earlier today in Minneapolis, our thoughts and prayers are with her family, friends, loved ones, and the Monarch Nation,” said ODU President Brian Hemphill, who, of course, just opened himself up to being doxxed and attacked and assaulted.
“This is yet another clear example that fear and violence have sadly become commonplace in our nation,” Hemphill said. “Indeed, this tragedy reflects the deep strain being felt in countless communities across our nation. As citizens, it is our duty and right to call upon leaders and officials to restore civility in all facets of our lives, especially at the hands of those who are entrusted to protect and serve.
“May Renee’s life be a reminder of what unites us: freedom, love, and peace,” Hemphill said.
Is it odd that I’m not seeing this statement from the ODU president on any of the school’s socials?
Probably not.
Stephen Miller might sic the Justice Department on the school with a threat to take away millions in federal funding.

and where those two meet
and how often and how well
and what dies there.
