UVA Football coach Tony Elliott told reporters on Friday that slot receiver Cam Ross and left tackle McKale Boley would be available for Saturday’s ACC Championship Game. But.

The but: both were still listed as “questionable” on the Friday 8 p.m. availability report filed with the ACC.

At Elliott’s 4:15 p.m. presser, the word was:

“Cam looks pretty good. He’ll be ready to roll. Boley is going to give it his best shot. Any time you’re dealing with an ankle, that’s nagging, but he was able to get some work in practice this week. So, we anticipate that both those guys will be available and ready to go, and that it will be more of a how they feel once they get into the game,” Elliott said.

Ross, a grad senior, is second on the team with 43 catches on 64 targets for 459 yards, and he’s also a threat in the return game – with a kickoff return for a TD, and 170 yards in punt returns, with a long of 48.

His backup is sophomore Kam Courtney, who has 23 catches on 34 targets for 226 yards.

Courtney had six catches on eight targets, with a drop, for 50 yards in Virginia’s 27-7 win over Virginia Tech last week, getting 54 snaps after Ross left following just four snaps.

Boley, a senior, has logged 725 snaps this season, allowing two sacks and 12 total QB pressures on 370 pass dropbacks.

Boley left after 15 snaps in the win over Virginia Tech.

Sophomore Ben York went the other 68 snaps at left tackle in his absence, allowing one QB pressure on 33 pass dropbacks.

York has logged 235 snaps this season, split between left tackle and right tackle.
