The Trump administration, which has federal police and National Guard troops on the streets of DC, because DC is unsafe, is also no longer going to enforce DC gun laws that make it a felony to concealed-carry rifles or shotguns in the District.
Make it make sense.
“In line with President Trump’s directive to make D.C. safe, U.S. Attorney Pirro has made it clear that the old way of doing things is unacceptable,” Tim Lauer, a spokesman for Jeanine Pirro, the BAC-challenged Fox News weekend host cosplaying as the U.S. Attorney for DC, said in a statement.
“What better evidence could you ask for that Trump doesn’t care about preventing crime in DC than an outright refusal to enforce gun laws? This is exactly the behavior we should expect from a president who put criminals back on the street after Jan. 6, including some who carried firearms there illegally.” said Don Beyer, a Democrat who represents a district in Northern Virginia adjoining Washington, D.C., in Congress.
It’s all fun and games, obviously, the fake operation to make DC safer, which is clearly actually focused on demonstrating what the Trump administration thinks it can get away with.
Because DC is going to be a host safer with an army of self-appointed doofuses with permits walking the streets with rifles and shotguns.
“Trump and Jeanine Pirro are making it clear that the point of their unwanted and unjustified occupation of the nation’s capital has nothing whatsoever to do with public safety or crime prevention. Worse, they are putting Washingtonians at risk by signaling that carrying dangerous, illegal weapons here will be accepted by a government that pardons criminal activity carried out in Trump’s name. This is disgusting and unacceptable,” Beyer said.
