A Broadway man, ejected during a two-vehicle crash on Sunday, died in a fatal crash on Interstate 81 in Shenandoah County.

Jose O. Torres, 43, was not wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene.

According to Virginia State Police, the crash occurred at 2:57 a.m. at the 284 mile marker on interstate.

A Ford F150, driven by Torres, was traveling south on I-81 when it attempted to pass a Toyota RAV4 on the right shoulder.

The Ford lost control and collided with the Toyota before overturning.

The driver of the Toyota, a 56-year-old female from San Diego, Calif., and one adult passenger, were transported to Shenandoah Memorial Hospital in Woodstock for treatment of minor injuries.

Two other adult passengers were not injured. They were wearing seatbelts.

The crash remains under investigation.
