A Sperryville man is dead after a fatal crash in Rappahannock County on Monday afternoon.

Virginia State Police is investigating the two-vehicle crash that occurred at 12:55 p.m. on Route 522, or Zachary Taylor Highway, approximately one half of a mile south of Route 662.

Gerald L. Ochs, 79, died at the scene, according to Virginia State Police. He was wearing a seatbelt.
