George Mason won at St. Bonaventure Tuesday night for the first time since 2004, getting out to an early 18-point lead on its way to a 75-62 win.

Mason (15-5, 6-1 A-10) has now won five straight, and sits alone atop the A-10 standings.

The Patriots jumped out to a 33-15 lead at the 7:04 mark of the first half, and the Bonnies (14-6, 3-4 A-10) would not move closer than nine for the remainder of the game.

“Offensively, we clicked early,” George Mason coach Tony Skinn said. “Zach Anderson gave us a great start. It really just set a tone early on and we went into halftime with the confidence that we could win here in a really tough place. Everything just kind of settled after that.”

Anderson finished the game with an A-10 season-best 17 points. He knocked down 5-of-8 three-pointers and 6-of-9 shots overall in the win.

Senior Darius Maddox added 14 points (7-7 FT) and a season-best seven rebounds, while junior Brayden O’Connor notched 13 points, five rebounds and three assists.

Mason was a perfect 19-for-19 from the free throw line, marking the second most makes without a miss in program history.
