The Virginia Department of Transportation will conduct an online survey regarding Route 259 (Mayland Road) between U.S. 11 (Valley Pike) in Rockingham County and Broadway Avenue in the Town of Broadway.

Through Monday, January 20, 2025, the survey will be available online for public input.

The survey is part of the Route 259 Strategically Targeted and Affordable Roadway Solutions (STARS) study to evaluate transportation needs and develop recommendations. The goal of the STARS study is to identify improvement recommendations to enhance safety and mobility for all users of the transportation system.

The brief survey requests input on how you use Route 259 and your perspective on the current transportation conditions, challenges and opportunities for the roadway.

The STARS study is a collaborative effort between the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), Rockingham County and the Town of Broadway. VDOT is serving as the project manager for the study with ATCS of Herndon as a consulting partner for developing the study, supporting analysis and improvement concepts.

Final study recommendations will be considered by the county and town for advancement through state or federal transportation funding programs.

More information is available on the VDOT Study web page.
