A 40-year-old Harrisonburg man is dead after he crashed his truck into a veterinary building at 3 a.m. this morning.

Jeremy Grear was ejected from the truck and pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger, whose name has not been released, was extracted from the vehicle and transported to Rockingham Memorial Hospital. His condition is unknown at this time.

Harrisonburg Police Department responding officers found the truck after responding to a commercial alarm at Best Veterinary Services on Waterman Drive at 3 a.m.

As officers were checking the premises, they found a Ford F-150 truck on its side that had crashed into the building, triggering the alarm.

The investigation is currently ongoing.

The HPD accident reconstruction team and the Harrisonburg Fire Department also responded to the scene and are still collecting information to determine the exact circumstances that led to this crash.
