A Charlottesville man who brandished a firearm at a city employee on the Downtown Mall last month pleaded guilty to several weapons offenses on Thursday.
Toreke N. Barbour, who pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, and brandishing a firearm, faces up to seven years in prison at his Jan. 7, 2025, sentencing.
In addition to any sentence, he receives on those charges, Barbour is also facing the possibility of an additional eight years in prison for a pending probation violation in the Charlottesville Circuit Court.
An online court records search found an extensive list of criminal charges against Barbour dating back to 2019. The charges were in Stafford, Albemarle County and Charlottesville courts. The charges included malicious wounding, assault and battery, cocaine distribution, weapon possession, public swearing and intoxication.
