Guilford College knocked down a total of 16 buckets from 3-point range Wednesday night and pulled away for a 97-76 victory over the Bridgewater College Eagles in ODAC action.

The Quakers hit 11-of-17 3-point tries in the first half to open up a 54-38 lead at the break.

Guilford (10-5, 4-2)cooled off some in the second half, but finished the game 16-of-30 from 3-point range as they cruised to the victory.

Wednesday night’s game was a complete reversal of this season’s first meeting in Greensboro where the Eagles took a 17-point victory.

Four Quakers scored in double figures, led by Josh Pittman with 26 points. Pittman hit 7-of-10 shots from beyond the arc. Matt McCarthy and Will Freeman added 15 points each and Gabriel Lowder finished with 14 points.

Ed Reddick led the Eagles with 21 points on a perfect shooting night. Reddick was 8-for-8 from the field and 5-for-5 from the foul line. Cody Griffith finished with 14 points, followed by Aaron Adams with 13 and Ronnie Thomas with 11.

The Quakers also destroyed the Eagles on the boards by a 49-28 margin. Reddick also led the Eagles on the glass with eight rebounds. Brad Monroe grabbed eight rebounds to lead the Quakers.

The Eagles (4-10, 1-4) are back in action Saturday afternoon when they host Hampden-Sydney.
