Charlottesville: Man shot multiple times by acquaintance, required tourniquet

A 23-year-old is in serious condition at UVA Medical Center after being shot multiple times last night in Charlottesville.

At 8:54 p.m., Charlottesville Police Department officers responded to a report of a shooting outside of 108 Lankford Ave. Upon arrival, officers found the male victim.

Officers provided life-saving measures including applying a tourniquet to the victim.

The victim was transported to the hospital. He is currently in serious by state condition.

According to police, the investigation indicates the victim and suspect knew each other. There is no indication this is a random attack.
