Charlottesville woman dead after two-vehicle accident on Seminole Trail

A fatal accident on Seminole Trail in Albemarle County Thursday night claimed the life of a 23-year-old Charlottesville woman.

Shahd Boz Al Asaal sustained life-threatening injuries and later died after being transferred to a local hospital.

Asaal was a passenger one of two vehicles involved in the crash that occurred at 6:42 p.m. in the area of Hill Top View Lane.

The crash is under investigation by the Albemarle County Police Department.

According to police, the accident occurred between a sedan and an SUV. The sedan had three occupants including Asaal. The driver was evaluated at the scene for minor injuries. Both passengers were transported to UVA Medical Center. The surviving passenger had minor injuries.

The sedan’s three occupants were not wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash, according to ACPD.

The driver of the SUV sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene. The driver was the SUV’s lone occupant and was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
