Look, the guy was wounded in Vietnam himself, OK? Stop calling him unpatriotic.
It was a stupid comment, sure. But his point should be well-taken.
PUSH: Tim Williams revives Finance Committee
The new Waynesboro mayor said the committee, dormant for at least the past four years, will be a “fact-finding committee” after appointing himself and Vice Mayor Frank Lucente to the body this morning.
It will be something that we will have to learn more about before any of us can pass judgment on the matter.
PUSH: Bruce Allen sidesteps Planning Commission appointment
Tradition has long had it that the newest member of Waynesboro City Council is appointed to a two-year term as the council’s liaison to the Planning Commission. Lorie Smith was the most recent newbie initiated into council service that way.
Tim Williams had made a push to have Smith serve another term before she begged off, citing time constraints. In the place of Allen, who spoke nary a word during discussion of the matter this morning, Frank Lucente offered himself up for a term in the post.
There’s something being left unsaid here.

TODAY’S HOT OR NOT: Solid job by LaRoue, NV on Stormwater Strain
I give ’em hell when I feel it appropriate, so I owe it to them to give them praise when deserved. All told, the NV and reporter Jimmy LaRoue did a solid job reporting on stormwater issues in Waynesboro in their Stormwater Strain series.
The only criticism I can give is that it came a bit too late to have an impact on the debate.
Please don’t hold it against me that I will now use this entry as a plug for my own Top Story entry on stormwater issues in Waynesboro coming next week. Thanks.
