NO, HE DI’N’T: Cindy McCain for Miss Buffalo Chip

You want to give John McCain credit for not being a stuffy ol’ bore. OK. I’ll bite.

But that Miss Buffalo Chip contest, you know, that’s the kind of thing that’ll get you in trouble with the wife if you Google it and click on the link.

And he’s suggesting that the possible next First Lady get involved in that?

Again, I get it, he was kiddin’ around.

But …

I dunno, kind of puts that denial on the 1980s ape rape joke in perspective, doesn’t it?

TODAY’S HOT OR NOT: We’re going down

I just watched the tape of yesterday’s 87-76 strugglefest over Australia in a pre-Olympic friendly that was anything but for USA Basketball.

Playing without Andrew Bogut, the Aussies were within four midway through the third and seven midway through the fourth in a game that seemed to be an upset-in-the-making.

I don’t care if they would have had Bogut – there’s no way in hell we should have a team with Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Dwayne Wade, Carmelo Anthony, Deron Williams, Jason Kidd and Chris Paul and be beating friggin’ Australia by 11 points.

I remember back in the ’90s when I was a student at UVa. seeing the ‘Hoos beat the Australian National Team in a friendly.

Problem #1: Unless they import ACC refs over to China, we’re not going to get much more mileage out of the Coach K thing.
