Fishburne Military School named to Best Schools list

fishburne military schoolFor the fifth time in six years, Fishburne Military School has been named to the annual Top High Schools and Colleges list by Virginia Living magazine.

“The last time Fishburne Military School was named to this list we did a little research,” notes Fishburne Military School’s Superintendent, retired Navy Captain Mark E. Black, “and found that of the 966 high schools and 77 colleges in the state of Virginia, only 150 programs were selected for this list. We are all incredibly proud and blessed to be part of a school as special as Fishburne Military School.”

Fishburne Military School’s Founder James Abbott Fishburne is often quoted as saying: “It is my purpose to have here an institution which shall rank as first class in everything that constitutes true worth, and from which shall go forth loyal, earnest, industrious boys and young men, well equipped for the duties and responsibilities of life, and above all else, to maintain a high standard of honor and integrity in the Corps of Cadets.”

“Professor Fishburne would be thrilled by the fact that his little school in Waynesboro is still producing educated and honorable young men of courage nearly 140 years later,” adds FMS Black.

Virginia Living’s Top High Schools & Colleges 2018 recognizes schools for their “excellence and innovation”.
