Fishburne honors veterans as part of Wreaths Across America

wreaths across americaFishburne Military School held its annual wreath-laying ceremony as part of the Wreaths Across America program, which honors veterans of the U.S. armed services, on Tuesday.

Cadets placed wreaths in memory of fallen service members from the U.S. Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Coast Guard and Merchant Marines.

Every year during the Christmas season, Fishburne pauses to remember those who have given their lives in service to our country. The Wreaths Across America program is a key part of the mission to Remember, Honor and Teach about the sacrifices made by members of our armed forces.

In 1992, the Arlington Wreath Project got its start with a trailer full of wreaths decorated by volunteers and laid at the graves of fallen soldiers at Arlington National Cemetery. The project grew and has become a national organization that focuses on remembering and honoring our nation’s fallen service members.

Wreaths Across America is the non-profit organization that was formed as an extension of the Arlington Wreath Project. Today, there are over 700 participating WAA locations in all 50 states and 24 national cemeteries on foreign soil.
