Angela Kuremsky is EMS Council’s Outstanding Nurse Contributor

ems councilAngela Kuremsky, RN, an emergency room nurse at Augusta Health, was named the 2016 Nurse with Outstanding Contribution to EMS by the Central Shenandoah Emergency Medical Services Council.  As a result of receiving this regional award, she is now a nominee for the Governor’s EMS Award in November.

The award is given to a nurse who exemplifies outstanding service is emergency medical services; knowledge and performance of EMS nursing skills; and high standards of cooperation and leadership with other EMS personnel and agencies.

As the scheduler for EMS education, Kuremsky schedules students with a wide variety of experience and background with an appropriate nurse preceptor.  She also works as a nurse preceptor herself, she ensures that the students are given the opportunities they need to acquire and develop necessary skills, often working one-on-one to answer questions.  Kuremsky is also an Advanced Life Support volunteer provider with the Staunton-Augusta Rescue Squad, and serves as Secretary and Membership Committee Chair for the squad.
