Waynesboro Police seek public help in ID’g shoplifter

Chris Graham

The Waynesboro Police Department is requesting assistance from the community to help identify an individual involved in substantial theft from a local business.

On Tuesday at 5:30 a.m., the suspect described as a white male possibly in his late 20s to early 30s entered Walmart, 116 Lucy Lane.  He loaded up a shopping cart with nearly $750 worth of merchandise.  The items he stole were a coffee machine, a fish tank, fish tank sand, a broom, two shirts, a car seat and a seven-piece bed set.

The suspect was in the store for approximately 30 minutes before he left.  He was confronted by a Walmart employee at the exit but refused to stop for her.  He then loaded his ill-gotten goods in a green SUV and left the parking lot.

Still images of the suspect and vehicle are attached.

If anyone has information as to the identity of these individuals, please call the Waynesboro Police Department at (540) 942-6675 to speak with Officer Jeff Barker or call Central Shenandoah Crime Stoppers at (800) 322-2017.  Anyone who gives information that leads to an arrest of the offender can receive a cash reward.
