The Six Pack Songwriter Series returns to The Paramount

AFP

the paramountThe Paramount Theater is thrilled to welcome the Six Pack Songwriter Series  back to the stage on Friday, February 26 at 8PM.  Founded in February 2013 by Jason Burke, The Six Pack Songwriter Series has one mission: To introduce audiences to singer-songwriters who call Virginia home.

Tickets for the event are on sale now and my be purchased at The Paramount Theater’s Box Office or online at www.theparamount.net.

Encompassing diverse styles and subject matter, the Six Pack Songwriter Series events intend to surprise and delight. With a goal to allow audiences to experience a mixture of our best local artists at once, each Six Pack Songwriter Series event features 6 artists (hence Six Pack) for one evening of live and local music. This year’s  production  introduces an all-new line up to The Paramount stage.  This year’s roster includes Michael Clem, Ben Eppard, Paulo Franco, Julia Kwolyk, Anne O’Brien, and David Tewksbury.

These artists will be supported by a live band for this event.

Jason Burke, organizer and founder of the series states, “This series is an exercise in the joyful execution of locally produced music. At some point over the last couple of years, my listening habits changed.  My CD player (yes, I still have one of those), once a treasure trove of classic rock & roll, overflowed with nothing but local music.  By local music, I mean music made by artists here in Virginia.  Some of these artists live down the road from me.  Some of them have day jobs.  For some of them, music is the day job as well as the night job.  Some have bands and some don’t want one.  Some of them have studio-produced material and some of them record in their basement.  Many of them are among the most interesting artists I’ve encountered in years. That’s where the Six Pack Songwriter Series comes in.”
