wlogo2Waynesboro got four runs in the first, and Latten Galbraith picked up his first win in his first start of 2013 in a 10-1 Generals victory at Charles Town Saturday night.

Galbraith (junior, Louisiana Tech) pitched five and a third innings, giving up a run on four hits, striking out three and walking one.

Jeff Conley (junior, Alderson-Broaddus) pitched two and two-thirds innings, striking out two, walking none and giving up one hit. Terrance Dedrick (junior, Auburn) struck out two in a scoreless, hitless ninth to close out the game.

Corbin Lucas (sophomore, Shenandoah) and Roger Gonzalez (freshman, Miami) each had two RBIs for the Generals, which reached double figures in hits for the fourth straight game.

The triumph extends Waynesboro’s winning streak to a season-high four games and puts the Generals ahead of Rockbridge by three games for the fourth and final playoff spot in the South Division.

The Generals are off the next two nights, returning to action on Tuesday at home against Aldie. First pitch is at 7 p.m. The game will be broadcast at www.WaynesboroGenerals.net with a pregame show at 6:55 p.m. hosted by Kris Neal and Chris Graham.
