UVa. baseball to begin postseason ticket sales

On Tuesday, May 15, ticket books for potential NCAA Baseball Regional and Super Regional tournaments at Davenport Field go on sale at 9 a.m. through the Virginia Athletics Ticket Office. Regional all-session ticket books are sold for $60 for reserved seating and $45 for general admission seating, while Super Regional all-session ticket books are $36 for reserved seating and $24 for general admission seating.

Ticket books may be purchased in person at the Virginia Athletics Ticket Office in Bryant Hall or by calling the ticket office at (800) 542-8821 or visiting VirginiaSports.com.

All 2012 Virginia baseball season ticket holders may purchase both reserved and general admission ticket books through the May 21 priority seating deadline. Virginia Athletics Foundation donors who do not have reserved season tickets may request reserved seat ticket books and order general admission ticket books through the priority deadline. The general public may purchase general admission ticket books online beginning Tuesday. All reserved tickets were sold as season tickets in 2012. Reserved seat season ticket holders will have the first option to purchase Reserved seats for the Regional and Super Regional tournaments.

NCAA Regional and Super Regional Dates and Announcement Schedule

If selected as a host site, Virginia would host an NCAA Regional Championship tournament featuring three other opponents June 1-4. If the Cavaliers were to win the NCAA Regional Championship, they could potentially host a Super Regional Championship (best-of-three) June 8-10 or June 9-11.

The 16 NCAA Regional sites are announced Sunday, May 27, at 3:30 p.m. on the ESPN bottom line. The NCAA tournament selection show is slated for Monday, May 28, and will be televised by ESPN at 12:30 p.m. The eight Super Regional sites are announced following the completion of regional play.

Postseason Seating

All sections of the grandstand (Sec. 101-109) and the first base line bleachers (Sec. A-F) are considered reserved seating for both the Regional and Super Regional tournaments. General admission seating is located on the grassy hillside down the left-field line and in the bleachers beyond the outfield wall in both left and right field. Standing room is also available for general admission ticket buyers.

The NCAA requires tickets to be held for the visiting teams for both the Regional and Super Regional tournaments. Therefore, not all season ticket seating locations are available to be purchased. All season ticket holders may order the same number of seats as they held during the regular season. The Virginia Athletics Ticket Office will make every effort to place postseason tickets as close as possible to season ticket holders’ regular season seat location.

Season ticket holders may order additional tickets in general admission seating and request an upgrade to reserved seating at the time of purchase. Upgrades are not guaranteed and will be based on reserved seat availability after May 21. Season ticket holders who are offered an upgrade will be automatically charged for the difference in ticket price and will be seated in Virginia Athletics Foundation priority point order. Requests for additional reserved seat tickets will not be seated next to existing season ticket locations.

Season ticket holders purchasing postseason tournament books in reserved grandstand seating locations must commit to the purchase of tickets for both the Regional and Super Regional rounds. Ticket books for other seating areas, including general admission, may be purchased on a round-by-round basis.

Current Virginia Athletics Foundation donors may purchase reserved ticket books in the first-base line bleachers (section A-D) on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. General Admission ticket books are also available. To take advantage of this opportunity, donors must log in to their online ticket account or call the Athletics Ticket Office.

UVa students must purchase tickets for admission to both the Regional and Super Regional tournaments. Students may purchase general admission tickets at a reduced price of $30 for Regional ticket books and $15 for Super Regional ticket books.

Refund Policy

Virginia 2012 baseball season ticket holders only will be charged if Virginia is announced as a tournament host for the Regional and Super Regional tournaments. Non-season ticket holders’ credit cards will be charged at the time of purchase. If Virginia is not selected to host a postseason tournament round, all non-season ticket holders will receive a full refund of their ticket balance for that round.

Postseason Ticket Delivery and Pick-Up

Customers ordering postseason all-session ticket books by Friday, May 25, may choose to have the tickets mailed to the address provided. After that date, tickets may be picked up at the Virginia Athletics Ticket Office in Bryant Hall during regular business hours or at Davenport Field Will Call on game day.
