Acute external otitis or otitis externa – more commonly called swimmer’s ear – is an infection that affects the outer ear canal, the section outside your eardrum. It was given the name “swimmer’s ear” because it is routinely caused by water remaining in the outer ear following swimming, which creates a moist environment that encourages bacterial growth.

The Waynesboro Generals got another solid pitching performance on the road at Aldie Wednesday night in a dominating 7-0 win over the Senators. Corey Armentrout (sophomore, Bridgewater) picked up the win with five innings of three-hit baseball. Armentrout (1-1) lowered his ERA to a miniscule 0.71 with the outing.
