Ug-g-g-ly: Cavs sloppy, but survive Penn State, 17-16

AFP

Virginia committed four turnovers, but Penn State missed four field goals, and the Cavaliers escaped with a 17-16 win on Saturday. UVa. (2-0) looked out of sorts from the get-go, particularly on offense, which in addition to the four turnovers managed to gain just 295 yards in total offense. Penn State placekicker Sam Ficken would prove to be the difference, though, missing on field-goal tries of 40, 38, 20 and 42 yards and then missing a fourth-quarter extra point.
