The River City Radio Hour’s Friday, Sept. 21st performances will mark the beginning of the production’s sixth season. Featured in the opening shows will be The Boogie Kings, violinist Carolyn Lam, comedian Marsha Howard, and The River City Players in a new serial by playwright Bob Crawford. The performances at at 6:30 and 8 p.m. at WTA’s Gateway, 329 West Main in Downtown Waynesboro.

Gov. Bob McDonnell announced on Monday that the Virginia Commercial Space Flight Authority and Dulles-based Orbital Sciences Corporation have reached a new agreement to govern their working relationship and allocation of assets at the Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport.

The Virginia Board of Health today voted 13-2 to approve burdensome and unnecessary regulations governing women’s health centers that perform abortions. These new proposed regulations, if unchanged after a 60-day public comment period, will make abortions more expensive and more difficult to obtain, particularly if some clinics are forced to close.

Gov. Bob McDonnell announced Friday that total general fund revenue collections rose 6.6 percent in August. While August is not typically a significant month for revenue collections, mixed indicators continue to prompt caution and prudent fiscal leadership.
