Attorney General Mark Herring announced today that Virginia will join a coalition of seventeen other states and seven major municipalities taking legal action to support the Clean Power Plan, a national pollution-reduction strategy that will combat the impact of climate change on Virginia’s economy, coastal communities, the military, agriculture and forestry industry, and the health of Virginians.

Governor Terry McAuliffe announced this week that TeleTech Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: TTEC), a leading provider of customer experience, engagement and growth solutions, will invest $4.07 million to establish a customer experience center in Scott County. The Clean Power Plan was published in the federal register today, beginning the process of cleaning up America’s dirtiest power plants, the leading source of U.S. global warming pollution. The rule’s publication is widely expected to trigger a new wave of polluter-driven attacks on the rule, both in the courts and in Congress.
