On April 26 and 27, the University of Virginia welcomes one of theater’s luminaries, Moisés Kaufman, to share his creative insights with students, faculty, staff and the Charlottesville community. His mini-residency will include two classroom visits and a public talk and book signing.

The Wicked Folly Tour has completed its tour, traveling across 17 states, producing over 50 performances at 33 venues, and reaching nearly 17,000 audience members. Now the troupe returns to Staunton to present the American Shakespeare Center’s Spring Season. Performances begin at the Blackfriars Playhouse April 11.

U.S. Sens. Mark Warner and Tim Kaine (both D-Va.) announced today that the U.S. Departments of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and Veterans Affairs (VA) are awarding $693,962 in federal funding to Virginia housing authorities to help homeless veterans and their families find affordable and stable housing.

Ten graduating seniors will be honored as Cords of Distinction recipients in a ceremony Saturday afternoon, May 5, at Eastern Mennonite University. They will wear gold and blue cords during the graduation ceremony on Sunday, May 6.

Lime Kiln Theater has announced a pair of theatrical productions for its Summer 2018 season. Lynchburg’s Endstation Theatre will present William Shakespeare’s As You Like It on Sunday, July 8, and the Traveling Players Ensemble will return to Lime Kiln with a family-friendly performance of Sleeping Beauty on Saturday, Aug. 11.
