The Waynesboro Family YMCA is opening its doors to provide care for children of essential personnel in our community beginning Monday, March 30, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Y.

The Waynesboro YMCA recognizes the unprecedented danger with COVID-19 and is launching an online effort to support the area’s most vulnerable residents, including low-income families, seniors and veterans.

In an effort to protect the public and Waynesboro city employees from the potential spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), the Charles Yancey Municipal Building (City Hall) will be closing to the public at 5 p.m. today, March 20, until further notice.

The Waynesboro YMCA will remain open, but is limiting the numbers in its weight rooms, cardio and upstairs gym to no more than 10, in line with state and federal guidelines.
