
Area public libraries are going fine free
The Augusta County Library, the Staunton Public Library and the Waynesboro Public Library are eliminating overdue fines on library materials and will waive previously accrued overdue fines effective July 1.

The Augusta County Library will be opening up their bookdrops for patrons to return their materials, beginning Tuesday, May 26.

Phase One of the slow reopen of Virginia will have little immediate impact on the City of Waynesboro’s municipal operations.

The City of Waynesboro is discontinuing curbside book service at the Waynesboro Public Library and also closing playgrounds and ballfields to the public.

The City of Waynesboro is committed to ensuring that all essential services necessary for public health and safety continue throughout the COVID-19 pandemic response.

Embrace – A Center for Community is conducting an emergency neighborhood canvas of the the Wayne Hills area in Waynesboro to determine which residents may need help in the coming weeks, and which neighbors may be able to provide assistance.

A member of Congressman Ben Cline’s staff will hold mobile office hours at the Waynesboro Public Library on Tuesday, March 17, at 11:30 a.m.

During this season of giving, the Staunton Public Library is extending a little forgiveness to library patrons in exchange for much-needed sustenance for residents in need.

Augusta County will recognize Ali McCue, the Adult Services Programmer and Middlebrook Library Station Manager, at the Board of Supervisors meeting on Nov. 13 for receiving the 2019 Up and Comer Award from the Virginia Library Association.
