Muslim Journeys Bookshelf collection awarded to Waynesboro Public Library

Waynesboro Public Library (WPL) is one of 840 libraries and state humanities councils across the country selected to receive the Bridging Cultures Bookshelf: Muslim Journeys from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) and the American Library Association (ALA). The program aims to familiarize public audiences in the United States with the people, places, history, faith and cultures of Muslims in the United States and around the world.

Waynesboro Public Library marks National Library Week

Waynesboro Public Library joins libraries in schools, campuses and communities nationwide in celebrating National Library Week from April 14-20, a time to highlight the value of libraries, librarians and library workers. First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the country each April.

Job seekers to learn job finding skills at Waynesboro Public Library

Need some help finding employment? The Waynesboro Public Library has teamed up with the Waynesboro Rotary Club and the Office on Youth to host a career day. “Get a Job” Job Skills Fair on Thursday, April 25 from 3:00-7:00 p.m. Sessions scheduled for the day will help job seekers learn job finding skills.

Waynesboro Public Library children’s department to be dedicated

About a year after Waynesboro Public Library opened the doors to a newly renovated library, the children’s area will be dedicated in the memory of Ed and Betty Menaker. Their very generous estate donation will go far in supporting the activities and needs of WPL. The dedication will be held on Saturday, April 13 at 2:00 p.m. The whole community is invited to attend the reception that includes remarks by J.B. Yount and refreshments.
