Governor Terry McAuliffe announced this week that the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Langley Research Center Applied Sciences’ DEVELOP Program has completed two projects in Virginia designed to support the Commonwealth’s wine industry and improve the efficiency of water consumption for agricultural purposes.

Today U.S. Sen. Mark R. Warner (D-VA), a member of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, urged the U.S. Secretary of Transportation to work with the private and public sector on technology to defend sensitive airspaces against possible threats posed by unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), also known as drones.

More than 150 major rivers and streams flow into the Chesapeake Bay, Virginia’s most well-known estuary. This historically significant body of water has also provided livelihoods for fishermen, recreation for locals and visitors that flock to the region, and of course has been a vital water source for residents for hundreds of years.
