The following is a list of highway work that may affect traffic in the Staunton District during the coming weeks.

Starting Monday night, a contractor working for the Virginia Department of Transportation will begin paving westbound Interstate 64 in Louisa County.

A long-term transportation improvement project at the intersection of U.S. 29 and Route 151 in Amherst County is in design. VDOT, in coordination with Amherst County officials, continues to look into interim steps to improve safety at this location.

VDOT will hold a citizen information meeting from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, August 24, in the auditorium of the VDOT Staunton District office, 811 Commerce Road, Staunton, for the planned widening of Interstate 81 in Augusta County near Staunton.

A portion of Route 750 (Keezletown Road) will be closed for railroad repairs beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday, with the road set to reopen by 5 p.m. on Monday.

Maintenance work requiring extended, weekend lane closures begins Friday on two Interstate 64 bridges at mile marker 104 over Route 690 in Albemarle County.

Work continues on Route 624 (Happy Creek Road) in Warren County. A portion of Route 624 is closed to through traffic and will remain closed until ongoing utility work is finished.
