
WTA’s Gateway to present strategies of the American Civil War

Main Street United Methodist Church and Waynesboro YMCA are holding a free Easter Family Fun & Egg event on Saturday, March 23rd in the Constitution Park Pavilion beginning at 11:30 a.m.

Classical violinists Marc Ramirez and Olivia Hajioff will perform at WTA’s Gateway on Saturday, March 2 at 8 pm.

This month we add an additional computer training option for our members. Training will happen at the United Way Volunteer Center computers. Vickey Lawson will continue to come on Friday mornings from 9a.m. to 11a.m. Two people can sign up for each hour timeslot with Vickey for the month, allowing 4 people each month.

Bridgewater College associate music professor Larry Taylor will present an eclectic keyboard concert on Tuesday, Jan. 29, at 7:30 p.m., in the Carter Center for Worship and Music at Bridgewater College.

Dr. Jim Armstead noted professor of military strategy will present “Strategic Analyses of Civil War” at WTA’s Gateway on Thursday, Jan. 17 at 7 p.m. Dr. Armstead’s presentation will look at the whole of the war, the strategic plans on both sides and address why North won. The presentation has been given round the world to very favorable reviews and is famous for its comprehensive view of the conflict.

October at WTA’s Gateway will recognize its selection as “The Valley’s Favorite Place for Live Music” by bring two outstanding performers to the Shenandoah Valley. On Friday, October 5, Larry Kirwan, internationally celebrated Irish writer and musician will grace the Gateway stage with a combination of music, storytelling and Irish wit. On Saturday, October 6, rising hip-hop rock singer/musician Justin Turk will bring his unique musical style to Waynesboro.
