Richmond Flying Squirrels drop game at Trenton

Leading for the majority of the ballgame, the Richmond Flying Squirrels (4-5) lost their lead in the seventh inning and the ballgame in the eighth when rain shortened game two of a four-game series at ARM & HAMMER Park. The Trenton Thunder (5-3) claimed a, 5-3, win when heavy rains brought an early stoppage and sent Richmond to their fourth straight defeat.

Richmond Flying Squirrels walk off to 3-2 win over New Britain

After rallying in the ninth inning, the Richmond Flying Squirrels (3-1) walked off in the 11th inning with a, 3-1, win over the New Britain Rock Cats in front of 6,078 on Sunday afternoon at The Diamond. Adam Duvall scored the winning run on a wild pitch, igniting a wild celebration in the home plate circle. With the win, the Squirrels also took the series over the Rock Cats by claiming three of the first four games of the season.

Richmond Flying Squirrels outslug New Britain, 7-5

Adam Duvall’s two-run blast in the seventh inning propelled the Richmond Flying Squirrels (2-1) to a, 7-5, win over the New Britain Rock Cats (1-2) in front of 5,713 at The Diamond on Saturday night. His first Double-A home run was a massive one to left field off of Rock Cats reliever Nelvin Fuentes, and gave Richmond the edge in the four-game series.

Richmond no-hits New Britain

Left-hander Jack Snodgrass and right-hander Daryl Maday co-authored the first no-hitter in Flying Squirrels’ franchise history as Richmond blanked the New Britain Rock Cats, 1-0, on Friday night at The Diamond. The Rock Cats had prevailed by the same score in the conclusion of Thursday night’s suspended season-opener.
