General Assembly passes AG’s bills to crack down on child predators

With bipartisan support, yesterday the General Assembly passed bills from Attorney General Mark Herring to help protect Virginia children from online exploitation and to allow law enforcement to effectively investigate crimes involving child pornography, child exploitation, and human trafficking.

AAA praises state budget amendment targeting enforcement programs aimed at revenue enhancement

AAA commends Virginia legislators, who in one of their final actions before adjournment, sent a strong message of disapproval to the few localities across the Commonwealth which operate speed enforcement programs not primarily for safety, but merely as a “revenue grab” to provide major funding for their budgets.

UVA baseball travels to Myrtle Beach for three weekend games

The UVA baseball team heads to Myrtle Beach, S.C., this weekend for a trio of neutral-site games at The Ripken Experience. Ranked as high as No. 1 nationally, the Cavaliers (7-0) once again were forced to alter their regularly scheduled weekend round robin tournament because of inclement weather and field conditions in Charlottesville.
