Virginia Tech researcher’s study on bubble behavior could improve industrial application

Virginia Tech engineers have shed light on what happens to a nearby particle when bubbles burst. Sunghwan Jung, an assistant professor of biomedical engineering and mechanics in the College of Engineering, has discovered new information about a phenomenon called cavitation, the process of bubble formation in a fluid like water.

Independence Day gas prices expected to be lowest in five years

After reaching a new high for 2015 last week ($2.80), average gas prices have dropped slightly to $2.78 per gallon Friday. This price is four cents higher than one month ago, yet remains significantly discounted from this time last year with drivers saving an average of 90 cents per gallon year-over-year.
