At 10:53 a.m. Friday (Nov. 1), Virginia State Police were called to the scene of a crash in the westbound lanes of Interstate 64 near the 118 mile marker in Albemarle County. There is one confirmed fatality.

VDOT contractor Curtis Contracting, Inc. of West Point has finished the bridge deck work requiring extended lane closures on eastbound Interstate 64 over Route 20 at mile marker 121.5 in Charlottesville.

Lane closures for the ongoing bridge rehabilitation project will resume on eastbound Interstate 64 at mile marker 121 in Charlottesville Sept. 27-30 and Oct. 4-7.

Starting Sunday night, a contractor working for the Virginia Department of Transportation will begin paving westbound Interstate 64 in Albemarle County.

VDOT will update the traffic pattern on Route 20 (Monticello Avenue/Scottsville Road) at the Interstate 64 interchange (exit 121) in Albemarle County to improve safety and traffic flow.
