Bridgewater College offers a wide range of arts and events for the community to enjoy during the 2017 spring semester.

Dr. Maureen C. Silva, Vice President for Institutional Advancement at Bridgewater College, has received the Mentor of the Year Award for 2017.

Leonard Tshitenge, an American Congolese poet and activist, will speak as part of Bridgewater College’s Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day observance.

Bridgewater College will present a holiday extravaganza of familiar Christmas carols on Friday, Dec. 9, at 7:30 p.m. and on Saturday, Dec. 10, at 3 p.m.

Dr. William Miracle, who for 36 years was dean of students at Bridgewater College, has been awarded the Student Affairs Legacy Award.

Kwame Alexander, Newbery Medal children’s book author and poet and New York Times bestselling author, will speak at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 1.

The Bridgewater College board of trustees has approved the addition of men’s swimming as an NCAA sport beginning in the 2017-2018 academic year.

The film, Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee, will be shown at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, in Cole Hall at Bridgewater College.
