The Associated Press is showing Mark Warner with a 12,300-vote winning margin in the Virginia U.S. Senate race on Tuesday. The State Board of Elections has it at Warner by 16,500 votes.

Route 250 (Rockfish Gap Turnpike) and Route 151 (Critzers Shop Road) are closed at their intersection on Afton Mountain, near the Albemarle-Nelson county line. A tanker truck hauling milk has overturned and spilled approximately 3,000 gallons onto the roadway.

Gov. Terry McAuliffe announced on Tuesday the recipients of fiscal year 2014 farmland preservation grants. Eight localities have been awarded just over $1,058,000 from the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS).
