The Richmond Raiders Professional Indoor Football Team announced today the signing of Andres Morales, a 6’ 2″ 250 lb fullback, Corey Alberty, a 6’ 1″ 190 lb wide receiver, Jonathan Briley, a 5’ 9″ 175 lb defensive back, and Elliott Moore a 6’ 3″ 200 lb wide receiver.

Morales, from Bethlehem, Pa., earned first team Class AAAA Associated Press All-Pennsylvania honors while at Liberty High and played college ball at Rutgers.

“Morales is a hardnose fullback who can block as well as run the ball. We look forward to having him as a productive part of the offensive unit,” Raiders head coach James Fuller said.

Alberty is a Georgia native who played in college at Georgia State. Alberty began his Arena League career in 2009 with the Green Bay Blizzard and has played for the San Angelo Stampede Express and the Maryland Maniacs of the Indoor Football League.

Briley is a Richmond native who played at Henrico High School and St. Paul’s College. Coach Fuller described him as an “aggressive cover cornerback who can make a impact in the secondary with the ability to play tight man-to-man, which is a big part of this game.”

Of Elliott Moore, Coach Fuller said, “Moore is a wide receiver who combines size and speed and has the ability to make plays after the catch.” Moore hails from Jackson, Miss., and played at Alcorn State University.

The Raiders 2012 season home schedule begins March 10 at the Richmond Coliseum and runs through June 16. The team has joined a few past season rivals and some new additions in the newly-formed Professional Indoor Football League (PIFL). Their competition will include the Albany (Ga.) Panthers, the Alabama Hammers, the Louisiana Swashbucklers, the Columbus (Ga.) Lions, and the Knoxville Nighthawks.
