Is WWE burying Bo Dallas?

Chris Graham

bo dallasIf you’re not a regular viewer of NXT, which I’m not, your introduction to Bo Dallas came at the 2013 Royal Rumble, which saw Dallas enter at #16, eliminate Intercontinental champ Wade Barrett, last 20 minutes, then get a quick push that included a non-title win over Barrett on Raw the following night.

Then we get Dallas returning to the main roster a year and a half later after more time in NXT as what some in the business call a chickens—t heel, running up a decent winning streak with a series of otherwise nondescript pinfall victories.

And you’re thinking … huh?

The Dallas that I remember from early 2013 wasn’t a chickens—t. I remember leaving his brief flurry of attention on the main roster wanting to see more from the kid.

The more wasn’t him constantly asking us to be Bo-lievers, unfortunately, with the gimmick, reminiscent of the days of Brother Love, dampening whatever fire may have been there for Dallas from fans upon his return to the big roster.

In that vein, WWE started to tip its hand toward what is next for Dallas last week on Raw, ending the chickens—t winning streak with a quick rollup loss to R-Truth, after which Dallas savagely attacked Truth.

That’s the Bo Dallas that has the chance of making WWE some money. The kid who beat Wade Barrett, who lasted 20 minutes in the Rumble.

The Bo-lievers, if there were any out there the protracted disaster of a rollout of his latest push, want to see Dallas kick ass every so often, at the least.

The Bo Dallas who kicks ass every so often and can get fans upset at him for also being the occasional chickens—t is bank.
